PRACTICAL WALKTHROUGH · VANBRAIN 1.0.1

Plan a door-hanging
consumables list.

Start with the tools you own. Review the parts for the work ahead. Keep what you still need in one Shopping list.

A list becomes more useful when it starts with your actual kit. VanBrain’s Door hanging Pack is a starting point for trimming and finish-nailer supplies, built around supported owned tools. It is a planning aid, so your door construction, required finish and job requirements still determine what you need.

1. Add your exact tools first

In My tools, add the brand and exact model you own. Check the model plate and any relevant generation or variant details. Keep a note or optional personal photo if it helps you recognise the tool later.

If a model is missing, you can record it manually. That keeps your records useful, but a manually entered model, measurement or part number does not create a verified consumable match.

2. Choose Door hanging in Packs

Open Packs, choose Door hanging, then choose Build this pack. Suggested items start selected in the chooser. The available items depend on your saved tools and the current catalogue, so another person’s Pack may look different.

Read Tools still to check and Plan the rest as well as the suggestions. Without owned tools, you can browse general supplies, but owned-tool matches need your exact tools to be added first.

3. Review what each item is for

Inspect the exact part and its fitting and application information. Check which owned tool the item is associated with, the material and intended use, and the manufacturer’s instructions. A match for a tool does not approve every application.

Items under General supplies • check fitting are separate from exact-tool matches. Treat them as things to assess for the job, not as universally compatible products.

4. Omit items and set quantities

Remove anything you already have or do not need. Use the quantity controls to record the number of each listed product or pack you want on your planning list. Read the pack contents: one selected pack can contain several individual items.

Choose Review, read the included items and anything still to check, then choose Add to Shopping. The button includes your selected item count. You can return to edit the selection before adding it.

5. Use Shopping as your working list

Open Shopping to check the saved items, adjust your planning quantities and share your needed list. Tick items off as you collect them.

In version 1.0.1, qualified Amazon UK links open externally. Your list quantity is not transferred to Amazon. Using Buy on a Shopping row ticks the item off locally after the link opens; untick it if you still need it. Opening a link does not place or confirm an order.

Start with one tool

You do not need to enter your entire van before trying the workflow. Add one supported exact tool, inspect its consumables and try building a short list. Keep backups of important records and photos; your inventory stays on your iPhone and does not synchronise between devices.
